angels have wings

">do you believe that angels have wings? and that they can take whatever form they like?
today was one of the best days of my life…
the ISS team won first place in the darts competition in the International Sports Day held in Delft. Sailaja, Bob and I came there fully intent only on having fun, never thinking that we would get that far in the race.
we got beaten on our first match. with enough strategy, we managed to rally our points together. each one of us had our own strengths and weaknesses. our asses got kicked in some games but we always managed to rally enough points at the last minute…
and then, the winning felt so good i didn’t want it to end…
at some point, i realized i was again praying for angel’s wings. i was having a hard time trying to focus during the game. so i prayed for miracles instead.
the first time i prayed, i only asked for God to grant me angel’s wings on my darts wings… by some miracle, or luck, my prayer was answered. and it felt so good i just had to shriek it out loud…
then the winning continued. and i was no longer praying for myself. i was praying for angel’s wings for my teammates. and angels worked their magic and God performed His miracles.
at some point, the winning just gets to you until you’ve had enough of it, you just have to stop. the team have decided to settle for second place. at the last minute, we were playing for the finals: Sailaja and me, with Praveen in tow.
this time, my prayers were different… i was no longer praying for winning. i was praying simply for God’s will. I was no longer asking for the miracle of winning; i was simply praying for Him to do His bidding.
by some miracle, Praveen managed to win the game for the ISS team by hitting closer to the bullseye… and everything was over… and God has given His miracle!
Today, i received news that after 26 years, the ISS went number one in the overall standing during the International Sports Day. I badly wanted to shout out loud for joy and shout expletives that could turn all Dutch country red just to express my joy out loud. but i was too afraid that my neighbor upstairs would call the caretaker about the noises i could make inside my room. so i had to content myself with shouting my expletives inside my head… =D
"there can be miracles… if you believe…"
time and again, God shows His miracles in littlest or grandest ways. I knew that those darts flew today carrying with them angels’ wings and God’s small miracles. i knew i just had to write this piece so that i can shout out to the world the Bedan creed i learned by heart: "That in all things, God may be glorified!"

Congrats cates! miracles may happen but as you’ve qouted from a song, there can only be miracles when you believe. God blessed you and your team because you willed to win the game. Good job! congrats uli
