sick

it’s friday morning at the office and i am happy as a morose. people are gearing up for the party late this afternoon till the goodness-who-knows-wee hours. i am sitting here with a splitting headache, my throat feeling as parched as the neck of a dressed peacock.
i am sick…
sick in body, and it’s infecting my spirits. i am slowly turning into the green grinch of christmas. that is, including the phlegm that i am trying so hard to spew off but persistently gets itself stuck in my lungs and my throat (eooowww!!!!).
the flip side of this equation is that the theme for the party is 80’s. i need not struggle with my hair today as judging from its steady disarray, it looks as shaggy as tina turner’s hair. "it" has a mind of its own and it doesn’t want to be tamed today.
the doctor ordered me not to drink coffee, tea or anything with caffeine on it when i went for a check up yesterday. of course, i’m being bullheaded again and i just had a cup this morning in the hope of driving away this man which seems to be persistently hammering away in the tiny little corners of my brain.
i had my breakfast while one of my colleagues is having fun playing up 80’s music on his desk. pancake monster gulped down two big hash browns in addition to, well, pancakes and coffee. for dessert, i had an 800 mg of antibiotics, cough tablet, and vitamin e. yummmmmm!!!! i felt like i was a pill junkie. and it gives me a sick sense of high.
if you’re wondering where this writing is leading, i am also wondering why you still keep on reading. =) personally, i’m just a little cracked in the head right now. don’t tell anyone.
"i find it kind of funny, i find it kind of sad. when people go around in circles, it’s a very, very mad world…" -tears for fears, circa 80’s, mad world
